Crafting meets STEAM—where children create, connect and grow together.

In a world where screens often replace real-life connections, we empower children to unplug and dive into hands-on STEAM craft projects—where imagination soars, creativity blossoms, and confidence grows. In our fun and playful environment, children form meaningful friendships while discovering and nurturing the skills that will empower them to thrive in school and beyond.

What is STEAM?

Crafting with STEAM is all about mixing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math into hands-on fun! In our classes, kids get to think creatively, solve problems, and experiment in ways that make learning exciting. Every project helps them build skills they’ll use now—and in the future—while having a blast creating something amazing.

What is SEL?

Also known as the “soft skills,” Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is all about helping kids understand their feelings, build strong friendships, and make smart, thoughtful choices. These skills aren’t just nice to have—they’re the foundation for confidence, happiness, and success in every part of life.

STEAM & SEL?

When we mix STEAM craft projects with Social and Emotional Learning, the results are magic—kids create, connect, and grow in ways that set them up for the future. At Crafting Connections, we are committed to nurturing well-rounded humans who will make a positive impact on the world.

Fostering Creativity and Emotional Expression

The arts component of STEAM provides a unique opportunity for children to express themselves creatively. When integrated with SEL, children can explore their emotions through artistic expression, leading to greater self-awareness and emotional regulation. This approach nurtures both creative and emotional development.

Building Resilience and Perseverance

Both STEAM and SEL emphasize the importance of perseverance. STEAM challenges students to experiment, fail, and try again, fostering a growth mindset. SEL supports this process by helping children manage frustration and maintain a positive attitude. This combination builds resiliency and prepares children to tackle future challenges with confidence.

Promoting Teamwork and Collaboration

STEAM projects often require teamwork and collaboration. When combined with SEL, children learn to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and work together towards common goals. These experiences teach valuable interpersonal skills that are essential for our children’s future.

Enhancing Empathy and Critical Thinking

Integrating STEAM and SEL encourages children to approach problems from multiple perspectives. While STEAM activities develop critical thinking and analytical skills, SEL promotes empathy and collaboration. Together, these approaches help children understand the impact of their solutions on others.
