Meet the Founder
Crafting Connections was inspired by my two children and the many children I've had the privilege of learning and growing alongside throughout my years in early childhood education.
Some of the most meaningful moments I've experienced haven't come from the finished projects - they've come from watching a child light up with pride, persevere through a challenge, or discover they could do something they didn't think was possible.
Those moments are what inspired Crafting Connections.
To me, every project is more than a craft - it's an opportunity for a child, including my own, to discover what they're capable of and begin believing in themselves.
My hope is that every child who walks through our doors leaves feeling proud of what they built, confident in what they can do, celebrated for who they are, and excited to keep creating.
School halls to pop up walls!
Crafting Connections is growing! We're thrilled to now be an official approved vendor for the Salt Lake City School District, allowing us to partner with even more schools across the valley!
Our Mission
At Crafting Connections, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to create, connect, and grow.
Through joyful, hands-on STEAM experiences, children explore their creativity, solve problems, build confidence, and form meaningful friendships - all while discovering the joy of making something with their own two hands..
Our hope is that every child leaves feeling proud of what they built, confident in what they can do, and excited to keep creating. We believe those small moments of confidence can grow into a lifetime of curiosity, kindness, and making a positive impact on the world.
Our Philosophy
Lots of programs teach STEAM. Lots of programs make crafts. Lots of programs talk about Social and Emotional Learning.
At Crafting Connections, we believe these things were never meant to stand alone.
When children create with their hands, solve real problems, work alongside others, and experience the pride of saying, "I made that," something extraordinary happens.
They aren't just learning science. They aren't just building a project. They aren't just practicing life skills. They're discovering who they are.
Every project becomes an opportunity to build confidence, curiosity, resilience, kindness, and a belief in their own abilities.
Why Crafting Connections?
People often ask us about our name.
Yes, we love creating incredible hands-on STEAM projects - but to us, crafting means so much more than making something with cardboard, paint, or glue.
Every day, we're crafting confidence, curiosity, resilience, and friendships.
We're crafting moments that remind children, "I can do hard things."
And every day, we're creating meaningful connections - between children and their peers, parents and their children, and most importantly, between children and the confidence growing inside themselves.
Why Hands-On Matters
Today's children are growing up in a fast-paced, digital world. While technology has many benefits, children also need opportunities to unplug, slow down, and experience the world with their hands, their hearts, and the people around them.
At Crafting Connections, we create those opportunities. Through cutting, building, designing, testing, and creating together, children strengthen creativity, communication, resilience, and problem-solving while forming genuine connections with their peers.
Crafting isn't just about making something fun to take home. It's about helping children discover that their ideas matter, their hands can create amazing things, and they are capable of more than they imagined.
Learning Beyond the Project
Our classes naturally weave Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into every activity. Instead of teaching life skills as a separate lesson, we nurture them through everyday moments - working together, solving problems, practicing kindness, and learning to persevere when something doesn't go as planned.
Every project becomes an opportunity to practice empathy, communication, resilience, and teamwork in meaningful, authentic ways.
New! Adult-Child Classes
Our adult-child classes are designed to help families slow down, create together, and make lasting memories. Spend quality time building, laughing, exploring, and celebrating side by side while supporting your child's creativity, confidence, and development.
Because the best connections are made through shared experiences.
