Little Creaters

Ages 4 – 6

Our Little Kids program is full of hands-on activities and educational prompts that foster creativity, communication, and connection.

Promotes Creativity Over Consumption

Screens encourage consuming content; crafting encourages creating content, giving children an opportunity to restore imagination and fostering a stronger sense of purpose and pride. There’s rarely just one way to complete a craft. Children experiment, test ideas, and come up with unique solutions when things don’t go as planned.

Stimulates the Senses

Crafting engages our senses. Handling paper, fabric, clay, beads, or yarn builds awareness of textures, temperatures, and resistance. The snip of scissors, the crinkle of paper, or the tap of beads gives subtle sound feedback that enhances sensory awareness. Paint, glue, natural materials like pinecones or herbs have scents that make the experience richer and memorable. Stimulating multiple senses at once strengthens neural connections, improves memory, enhances motor skills, and keeps children fully engaged

Increases Mental Health and Well-being

Crafting reduces stress and provides a sense of accomplishment, helping children to feel more mindful in a world that feels constantly overstimulating. The repetitive, hands-on motions of cutting, gluing, or painting can feel relaxing by regulating breathing and resetting the mind. Crafting can prompt the brain to release dopamine (the “feel-good” hormone), giving kids a sense of joy and accomplishment.
